It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update. It hasn’t been the best week. I’ve been lethargic and moody. I found out my group can’t vend as a nonprofit at Philly Trans Health, and they are charging small businesses $225 for a table this year, which I can’t afford. So I’m concerned CNY for Solidarity won’t have a presence, in addition to me not being able to sell my books. Book sales in general have been low.
I found out that I’ll be getting less hours a week at my job than I thought (only 8 hours…occasionally more) so the search for gainful employment is far from over.
The finalists for the Lambda Literary Awards were announced and I Know Very Well How I Got My Name did not make the cut for Best Transgender Fiction. Refuse didn’t either, in 2011. So that admittedly hurt. In addition, it means I won’t be able to attend those readings this year, which is a disappointment. It also means I will not be getting the much-needed publicity boost.
Oh well. I’m just hoping next week brings better news.
- Syracuse, NY, USA.
- 2 or 3 bedrooms, 1 or 2 baths
- 1 or 2 people
- $600-1000 (total rent, including utilities)
- $200-$400 (cost per person, including utilities)
- for ASAP
- If this is still up, I’m still looking. I am also looking at studios and may just go for it, so I’m looking for something probably by June at the very latest, maybe as soon as April.
(hint: it’s me)
Just submitted a blog entry to Original Plumbing that I’m excited to see go live. I’ll post a link when it does.
